The DC Extended Universe has ultimately been a cinematic disappointment, save for a handful of memorable moments and Wonder Woman‘s box office performance. 2017’s Justice League stands as perhaps the biggest disappointment of the seven films to have been released in the series since 2013.
Zack Snyder was initially at the helm of the ensemble project, before he and producer (also his wife) Deborah Snyder had to walk away following a family tragedy. The Avengers writer-director Joss Whedon climbed aboard to finish the film, which went on to bomb with both critics and audiences. Many movie insiders have long called for the release of “the Snyder cut” of the film, which has been confirmed to exist by the likes of Aquaman star Jason Momoa.
Support for Snyder’s vision of the film received a boost over the weekend, when both Wonder Woman and Batman joined the movement calling for its release. Check out Gal Gadot’s tweet below.

Warner Bros. has reportedly not expressed any interest in releasing Snyder’s cut of Justice League, but with the studio is facing pressure from A-listers, it appears to be inching closer to seeing the light of day.
