Kanye West made a surprise appearance at the Fast Company Innovation festival in New York alongside Yeezy Footwear designer Steven Smith.
The rapper earned a top-5 spot in the recent Forbes article “Hip Hop’s Next Billionaires“, but begrudged that the magazine estimated his wealth only at $240-million.
“When I did Forbes, I showed them a $890 million (£768m) receipt and they still didn’t say ‘billionaire’. They don’t want us to know that we can buy land; they don’t want us to have the 100 percent ownership [that] I have at Yeezy.”
Kanye West says he may legally change his name to "Christian Genius Billionaire Kanye West" for a little bit. It's hard to tell if he's joking. https://t.co/Lgd8CFQDXd

West’s recent album Jesus is King showcases his conversion to Christianity, and Gospel and Soul influences helped secure domination of the entire Top 10 Billboard Christian songs chart on release. He continued during the interview:
“When people say it’s crass to call yourself a billionaire, I say I might legally change my name to Christian Genius Billionaire Kanye West for a year until y’all understand exactly what it is… It will be on the license plate,” he said.
