Many Kanye West fans using Apple Music were recently miffed by the sudden disappearance of his record College Dropout from the streaming service. Chalk one up for the ‘it’s better to own your music’ set as it appears Yeezy’s iconic 2004 debut was yanked by Def Jam Records.
One Twitter user reached out to Apple Support to inquire about the record’s whereabouts on the service. It was confirmed that the label pulled the album. West’s seven subsequent records remain on Apple Music, and College Dropout was still showing up on Spotify when this post was published. If you’re jonesing for a College Dropout spin, it looks like you’ll have to opt for an Apple competitor, or dust off that vinyl or CD copy.

Released in 2004, College Dropout has sold nearly 3.5-million copies and is widely considered one of the greatest hip hop albums of all-time.
