It was only a matter of time before Kanye West went in on the 2016 US election. The rapper expressed his opinion in front of a crowd at his show in San Jose Thursday night. West, as is his custom, incited some controversy over his views.
“Yeezy” admitted that he did not cast a vote in the November 8 election, BUT, if he did he totally would have voted for Donald Trump. Yeah, colour us disappointed but not at all surprised.
“I said something that was kind of politically correct. I told y’all I didn’t vote, right? What I didn’t tell you…If I were to have voted I would have voted on Trump,” West told the audience at the SAP Center.

West also reportedly told the crowd that he intends to run for president in 2020. The 39-year-old rapper reportedly interrupted his performance several times to talk politics. One Twitter user, @RaptorJesus, told the Daily News that West said “black people should get over racism and that they need to stop complaining about racism.”
Here’s a five-minute plus clip of West, sounding every bit like a College Dropout, rambling on about Trump and his own political opinions. The highlights include random fans shouting “he’s so dumb,” “I want that old Kanye, not that new Kanye,” and “shut up!”
