Karen O Recruits Ezra Koenig For “The Moon Song”

Ezra Koenig Joins Karen O For Duet Version Of "The Moon Song"

Yeah Yeah Yeah’s frontwoman Karen O has been hard at work creating new music. Just a few weeks ago she released her own rendition of Bob Marley’s “I Shot the Sheriff“, and she also provided “The Moon Song” for the Her soundtrack, which landed her an Oscar nomination for Best Original Song. This week she’s back at it, sharing an alternate version of the aforementioned “The Moon Song”, with Vampire Weekend frontman Ezra Koenig. This will be one of three songs included on The Moon Song set, an Ep that will be released through iTunes next week.

Here’s what Karen O had to say about the collab”

“I wrote the song as a duet, I was really excited at the prospect of getting to record it with a male vocalist. Ezra was super cool and open, he slipped into character like a champ and damn he’s got the goods…. Singing this song with Ezra felt like fulfilling a wish of my die-hard romantic junior high self.”
