Premiere Kathleen Wynne has officially announced that minimum wage will rise to $14 an hour as of January 1, 2018, and will hit $15 an hour as of January 1, 2019. The announcement arrived this morning just after 10 a.m. and is part of several planned reforms to workplace regulations.

Minimum wage is currently sitting at $11.40. Today’s news is expected to be followed by more announcements, including changes to annual paid vacation time, equal pay for part- and full-time workers, and unions in minimum wage jobs.
