Kendrick Lamar deepfakes into Kanye West, O.J. Simpson, Will Smith, more in video for new single ‘The Heart Part 5’

Kendrick Lamar has shared a video for his comeback single, “The Heart Part 5.”

The track serves as Lamar’s first new song in five years, and it serves as the first preview to his forthcoming album, Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers, out this Friday. Produced by Beach Noise, “The Heart Part 5” is a perfect return for Kendrick. The accompanying video sees Lamar deepfaking into O.J Simpson, Will Smith, Kanye West, Jussie Smollett, Kobe Bryant, and Nipsey Hussle. South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone were credited for the deepfakes.

The video opens up with a statement, reading: “I am. All of us.”

Just last week, Kendrick Lamar teased that Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers could be a double album. After announcing the record just a few weeks ago, Kendrick has appeared to tease that the record could be a pretty big one. When he announced the album, which is out on May 13th, on the oklama.com site, a press release revealed that “all factual information for this release will come directly from this source only.”

In a new post on oklama.com, there’s a picture of a book and two burned CDs. Kendrick’s name is scrawled across the front of the book alongside “Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers.” One disc reads “MORALE” and “MASTER COPY,” while the second reads “STEPPERS” and “MASTER COPY.” It looks like we could have a double LP in the works! And perhaps even a new book?

The follow-up to DAMN is on the horizon, and it serves as his first new album in five years.
