Kevin Morby is dropping A Night At The Little Los Angeles, a 4-track demo version of his stunning 2020 album Sundowner. The record will be out October 8 via Dead Oceans.
Today, he has shared the second single from the LP, “Sundowner (4-Track Demo)”. In a press statement Morby revealed, “In this demo of Sundowner you’ll notice a few differences from the album version. Wait for it!”
The new single is the follow-up to previously released, “Campfire (4-Track Demo)”.

Kevin Morby’s A Night At The Little Los Angeles was recorded at home in his back shed, which he has dubbed “The Little Los Angeles”. Made on a 4-track during 2017 and 2018, the recordings are the earliest drafts of what would become Sundowner.
“When I later went into a proper studio to make what would become Sundowner, my goal was to capture the essence of these initial recordings, and here you will now have access to the very essence I was chasing,” Morby posted onto Instagram.
“Many of my favorite recordings have been made inside of an artist’s home with little to no regard of the outside world, but instead deep in their own that they are building in real time. And with that—I’d like to invite you into my own little world here and now and ask you to please step inside and spend A Night at the Little Los Angeles.”
More about Sundowner
The original record Sundowner was shared back in 2020. It’s a brilliantly intimate LP that blends elements of indie, folk and country. The record is an ode to the American Midwest and American rock history. Featuring the beautiful singles “Campfire” and “Don’t Underestimate Midwest American Sun”, Sundowner is a treasure that brings solace in simplicity.

Morby stated, “We will be sharing a band! We will be sharing the stage! I will be playing new songs. Old songs. Other peoples songs. See you there! Let us dance, laugh, cry and sing sing sing!”
