Kevin O’leary Joins Conservative Leadership Race

After several teases, Kevin O’leary has officially joined the leadership race for the Conservative Party of Canada. O’leary, who some people (perhaps unfairly) refer to as “Canada’s Donald Trump,” became something of household name in Canada for his roles in CBC news and reality programs Dragons’ Den and The Lang and O’Leary Exchange, as well as Shark Tank in the United States.

The Canadian businessman officially announced his decision to enter the race via Facebook:

It's been a busy morning but it's important to me that I talk to YOU, the Canadians I'm fighting for.

The timing of O’Leary’s announcement is somewhat controversial. O’Leary, who is unilingual, shared his announcement Wednesday morning. The Conservative party’s French-only debate was held Tuesday night in Quebec City.

What do you think of O’Leary’s odds to gain the leadership of the party?
