Khruangbin, Leon Bridges share soft new single ‘Chocolate Hills’

Khruangbin and Leon Bridges have linked up for another new single, “Chocolate Hills.”

The track comes from their forthcoming EP, Texas Moon, which is the companion EP to Texas Sun. Today’s release, “Chocolate Hills,” is a bit more of a sensual slow jam. Leaning further into Bridges’ soulful sound, Khruangbin round out the track with a deep funk.

Bridges delivers lovestruck lyrics, singing lines like, “Who cares, let’s get lost in the flow.” The smooth lines fit the steady groove of the track perfectly, and you’re sure to find yourself swaying along.

Out on February 18th via Dead Oceans/Night Time Stories, Texas Moon. The new EP follows the release of their last collaborative project, Texas Sun. This EP continues that journey.

“It’s like a short story… And it leaves room to continue having these stories together,” Khruangbin singer Laura Lee explains of Texas Moon. “It’s not Khruangbin, it’s not Leon, it’s this world we have created together.”

In addition to “Chocolate Hills,” Texas Moon features their previously released track, “B-Side.”

Texas Moon contrasts, but compliments Texas Sun perfectly.

“Without joy, there can be no real perspective on sorrow,” the artists explain of the EP. “Without sunlight, all this rain keeps things from growing. How can you have the sun without the moon?”

Texas Moon Tracklist:

01 – “Doris”
02 – “B-Side”
03 – “Chocolate Hills”
04 – “Father Father”
05 – “Mariella”

Texas Sun truly made waves upon its release. The easy-going four-song collection is a perfect collaboration between the artists. It’s full of slick guitar riffs and powerful instrumental lines that allow Leon Bridges’ smooth vocal lines to take the lead.
