King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard share first-ever double album ‘Omnium Gatherum’

Melbourne psych-rockers King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard have returned with yet another new album, Omnium Gatherum.

Not only does it serve as the band’s 20th album to date, it is also their first double LP ever. Omnium Gatherum is a coherent, genre-bending 16-track album that’s sure to stick with you for a long time. The expansive new collection also marked the first time King Gizzard recorded together since the beginning of COVID-19.

“This recording session felt significant,” Stu Mackenzie explains. “Significant because it was the first time all six Gizzards had gotten together after an extraordinarily long time in lockdown. Significant because it produced the longest studio recording we’ve ever released. Significant because [I think] it’s going to change the way we write and record music – at least for a while. A turning point. A touchstone. I think we’re entering into our ‘jammy period.’ It feels good.”
