Lana Del Rey’s highly-anticipated new LP, Norman Fucking Rockwell, was just minutes old before the American singer revealed she was already in the process of preparing her next record, White Hot Forever.
Del Rey was the subject in a lengthy interview piece for The Times over the weekend where she touched on a range of topics. One intriguing nugget that didn’t make it into the story, but was shared by its author has many music fans wondering if they are even built to withstand the sadness that it could produce.
Asked about artists she would like to collaborate with, Del Rey identified The National. More particularly, frontman Matt Berninger’s iconic voice.
Didn’t have room for it in the piece, but I asked LDR who she’d like to collaborate with next. Me too, Lana, me too pic.twitter.com/UzvtgDjpkg

“Well, I really like the National. His voice, I think about it… a lot,” Del Rey told writer Al Horner.
Berninger has had no problem lending his voice to a variety of television projects over the past few years. Surely, he could satiate the sad set with a little collaboration with Lana Del Rey.
No concrete release date for White Hot Forever yet, but Del Rey indicated she expects it to drop sometime in 2020.
