Your family pops in for a visit, but you drank the last bit of wine last night – don’t sweat it! The LCBO is rolling out home delivery service that you can order from the comfort of your home.
The LCBO’s online sale and home delivery was introduced in the recent 2016 Ontario budget.
The much overdue introduction of wine sales happened recently in various Ontario grocery stores. This plan should have been introduced a long time ago using the accessibility we now have to internet and phone applications.
The full plan has not been specified but you can view some of the details in the 2016 Liberal Budget PDF, including the timeline which states:
“The LCBO is moving forward by creating a best-in-class e-commerce open marketplace…. It will provide consumers with access to a wider variety of products, as well as the flexibility to order online and pick up products in store or have them delivered to their home. This new platform will be operational by mid-2016.”
Looks like the LCBO is finally catching up with the times.
