LCD Soundsystem cover Joy Division’s ‘No Love Lost,’ perform rarities at Brooklyn Steel residency

LCD Soundsystem kicked off their Brooklyn Steel residency last night (November 23rd) with a cover of Joy Division’s “No Love Lost” and a slew of rarities.

The residency marks their live return after over three years. From now until Christmas, LCD Soundsystem will play a whopping 20 shows. Last night’s set marked their first show of the tour. They opened up with a cover of Spaceman 3’s “Big City (Everybody I Know Can Be Found Here)” before launching into a career-spanning set. They ended up closing it out with a cover of Joy Division’s “No Love Lost.” LCD Soundsystem haven’t played that cover since 2008.

The band played songs from their four studio albums, including some rarities they haven’t played in a while. LCD Soundsystem played 2007’s “Time To Get Away” for the first time in five years. They also played “Thrill” for the first time in a decade. In addition to rarities, they played hits like “I Can Change,” “Someone Great,” and “All My Friends.”
