Montreal’s (/Tiohtià:ke’s) Le Ren is back with a video for her new single “I Already Love You.”
The tender new song comes from her forthcoming debut album, Leftovers, out October 15th via Royal Mountain Records and Secretly Canadian. “I Already Love You” is a gentle contemplation of motherhood. Just like her last single “Dyan,” this new song is a delicate, moving exploration of love. The accompanying Ali Vanderkruyk-directed video comes packed with warm shots of Le Ren and her mother, Dyan.
“As I get older, I find myself contemplating motherhood,” Le Ren explains. “‘I Already Love You’ was written for a possible future.”

Leftovers is an album full of meticulous folk soundscapes. It sees Le Ren collaborating with Chris Cohen, Buck Meek, Tenci, and more. The record is set to explore a lifetime of relationships, as Le Ren sings of loved ones “lost, found, and kept,” according to a release.
Much like on previous singles “Dyan” and “I Already Love You,” the album balances melancholy, deep love, and levity. It will serve as a sort of personal patchwork about different forms of relationships. Throughout the album’s 10 tracks, Le Ren will sing of mothers, lovers, and friends.
“When I think of leftovers, I think of things that have been cast aside,” Le Ren explains of the album. “When they’re picked back up or remembered, they can be repurposed… Leftovers came to mean a collection of feelings and moments of the past that still remain relevant to my present.”
