Licensed bars and restaurants can now sell alcohol for takeout or delivery alongside food

All liquor sales licensees can now sell liquor for takeout or delivery alongside food.

To support businesses that have been significantly impacted by the spread of COVID-19, the Government of Ontario has amended Regulation 719 under the Liquor Licence Act (LLA) to temporary allow licensed bars and restaurants can now sell beer, wine, and spirits as part of a food order for takeout or delivery. The amendment begins immediately and will take place until December 31st, 2020.

All liquor sales licensees are automatically allowed to begin selling liquor for takeout or delivery, and they do not have to notify the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO).
