It'll feature in season two of the Epix series 'Godfather of Harlem'

DMX passed away on April 9th after suffering a heart attack six days earlier, and today we’ve gotten a first posthumous release from the renowned rapper.

Appearing alongside Swizz Beatz and French Montana, “Been To War” is set to feature in season two of the Epix series Godfather of Harlem upon its return to television on April 18th. The new tune sees DMX rapping lines like, “I’ma march to the beat, got my own drummers/ Let’s get it on baby, we can go to war all summer.”

At the time of his death, DMX was working on a new record Def Jam record.

On April 2nd, DMX, aka Earl Simmons, was hospitalized after a “catastrophic cardiac arrest,” and he died a few days later at age 50.

“Earl was a warrior who fought till the very end,” the statement from his family reads. “He loved his family with all of his heart and we cherish the times we spent with him. Earl’s music inspired countless fans across the world and his iconic legacy will live on forever.”
