Listen: Alexisonfire releases ‘Familiar Drugs,’ their first new track in nine years

Their first new music since 2009's 'Old Crows / Young Cardinals'

Legendary Canadian post-hardcore band Alexisonfire have finally made their return with their comeback single “Familiar Drugs.” The track marks their first new material in more than nine years.

The track is perfectly heavy, with a balance between snarling screams and pained vocals alongside a killer guitar line and a raucous drum beat. The tune was self-produced by the band with City and Colour’s Karl Bareham. “‘Familiar Drugs’ is about recognizing you need to make a change in your life, being presented with the opportunity to make that change, and then choosing to do the same thing you always do,” vocal lead George Pettit explains, according to Music Feeds.
