Art d’Ecco has dropped a cover of Joni Mitchell’s “This Flight Tonight.”

The track was recorded for The Strombo Show‘s Joni 75, which was a celebration of Joni Mitchell’s 75th birthday. “At first I was very apprehensive about covering such an icon, especially one so diametrically opposite from where I come from musically,” d’Ecco explains in a statement. “But the more I dove into the song’s lyrical meaning, the more it made sense to me.”

The eerie cover varies greatly from the original track, as d’Ecco’s layered, spinning vocal lines take the lead for a disorienting, yet powerful track. This cover of “This Flight Tonight” comes packed with ’80s-style synths, a simple guitar line, and rattling drums.
