Listen: Billie Eilish shares ‘When I Was Older,’ inspired by the film ‘Roma’

The Alfonso Cuarón recently won two Golden Globes

17-year-old sad indie pop icon Billie Eilish has just shared a new track called “Roma,” which was inspired by Alfonso Cuarón’s acclaimed new movie Roma.

Eilish generally writes from perspectives other than her own, so this seems like a perfect fit. “I write in characters a lot, so it’s not necessarily anything that I’m going through at all,” the teen sensation told Consequence of Sound. “It’s just art.”

Roma, which recently took home two Golden Globes, follows a domestic worker’s life in 1970’s Mexico.
