Listen: Chet Faker Shares Blizzard-Inspired Track “In-Between”

What’s a critically acclaimed artist to do in the midst of New York’s worst snow storm in recent history? If you’re Chet faker, you record a sweet new tune.

Holed up in his New York home studio over the weekend as a record-breaking 91cm of snow fell around him, the Australian musician passed the time by writing and releasing a new song, “In-Between.” Taking to Twitter shortly before, Nick Murphy (aka Chet Faker) complained about a lack of pizza availability in the #Snowzilla blizzard before dropping the new track to Soundcloud.

You won’t be hearing any of Murphy’s silky vocals on the track, instead he sampled NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio from a press conference detailing the impact the blizzard would have on the city. Otherwise, be prepared for the Chet Faker airy drums, and funk-ladened rhythms you’ve come to know and love.
