Listen: Dave Grohl covers X’s ‘Nausea’ with his daughter Violet

The cover will appear in Grohl's upcoming documentary 'What Drives Us'

Dave Grohl and his daughter Violet have teamed up for a cover of L.A. punk band X’s “Nausea.”

The Grohls took to their home studio to record the cover, which will appear in the Foo Fighters frontman’s upcoming documentary, What Drives Us. The cover sees Violet taking lead vocals, as she delivers powerful lines like, “Tonight you’ll fall asleep in clothes/ So late like a candy bar wrapped up/ For lunch that’s all you get to taste/ Poverty and spit.” As the track progresses, Violet is joined by her father on the chorus.

Alongside the track, Grohl shared a personal story about his own connection to the track in his new “Dave’s True Stories” Instagram post. “I wanted to record a song that would not only pay tribute to the people and music that influenced me to become a musician, but also pay tribute to my long family history,” Grohl wrote of the cover.
