Listen: Florence + The Machine debuts new track ‘Jenny of Oldstones’ on ‘Game of Thrones’

Florence + The Machine debuted an ethereal, percussionless rendition of “Jenny’s Song” from George R.R. Martin’s book A Song of Ice and Fire on last night’s episode of Game of Thrones.

The grand, orchestral track, titled “Jenny of Oldstones,” premiered during the credits, and Florence Welch’s throaty, powerhouse vocals fit the Celtic-style track perfectly. The folky, slowly-building ballad is reminiscent of traditional orally-transmitted music, and comes accompanied by a bare, yet robust piano line that drives the textured tune.
