Listen: Fucked Up cover The Tragically Hip’s ‘In View’

From a limited 7-inch released in 2019

Back in 2014, we witnessed the unlikely collaboration between Toronto-based punk outfit Fucked Up and iconic Canadian singer-songwriter Gord Downie. Downie lent some vocals to Fucked Up’s “The Art of Patrons” from their LP Glass Boys, and he also performed the band’s song “Generation” with The Sadies while they were on tour in 2014.

Moreover, in 2016 as The Tragically Hip were winding down their farewell Man Machine Poem tour, Fucked Up frontman Damian Abraham penned a heartfelt piece for Vice titled “How I Learned to Love the Tragically Hip and Still Be Punk,” outlining his personal relationship with the band and their music.

Taking the relationship a step further, Fucked Up have unveiled a cover of The Tragically Hip’s “In View,” from their 2006 album World Container. The cover comes from a limited 7-inch (only 200 copies!) they released on their Australian tour in October of 2019.
