Listen: Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong covers ‘I Think We’re Alone Now’

'I figure if we have to spend this time in isolation at least we can be alone together'

Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong is the latest artist in isolation to share a new tune. Armstrong released a cover of Tommy James And The Shondells’ “I Think We’re Alone Now,” the title track from their hit 1967 album.

“While we’ve all been in quarantine I’ve been reflecting on the things that matter the most in my life. Family, friends and of course music,” Armstrong said in a statement. “I figure if we have to spend this time in isolation at least we can be alone together.”

Green Day’s 13th studio album, Father Of All Motherfuckers, was released this past February. Their tour with Weezer and Fall Out Boy has been postponed due to the COVID-19 crisis.
