Listen: Grimes creates ‘experimental and sci-fi’ playlist for babies for new BBC Radio 1 residency

Featuring Caroline Polachek, Purity Ring, The Postal Service, and more

Pregnant, perfectly peculiar artist Grimes has begun her residency at BBC Radio 1, and on her first episode, she shared an “experimental and sci-fi” playlist curated for babies.

The show, which was made up of several tracks selected by Grimes herself, featured artists like Purity Ring, Caroline Polachek, The Postal Service, Aphex Twin, Vera Lynn, and more. Grimes even included her recent Miss Anthropocene track, “So Heavy I Fell Through the Earth.”

“I really think babies need more exposure to electronic and experimental music, and obviously that’s the kind of music I make and the kind of music I love,” Grimes explains on the episode.
