Joel Plaskett joins a growing list of artists paying their respects to The Tragically Hip frontman in light of his diagnosis.

Gord Downie shared his brain cancer diagnosis last month and since then there has been a whirlwind of events in response from fans (and scalpers) snatching up Man Machine Poem tour tickets to Hockey Night in Canada’s tribute montage. Feist also recently paid tribute to the artist by releasing a cover of “Flamenco“. Even the Prime Minister has spoken up about this heartbreaking diagnosis.

On his Soundcloud, Plaskett describes the piece as “a poem turned song” that he wrote and recorded for the influential artist. Plaskett then advises listeners to “crank it for the man with love.”
