Listen: Kurt Vile releases new track ‘How Lucky (feat. John Prine),’ announces ‘Speed, Sound, Lonely KV (ep)’

'Speed, Sound, Lonely KV (ep)' is set for release on October 2

Kurt Vile has announced his new EP Speed, Sound, Lonely KV (ep), which is set for release on October 2nd. As part of the announcement, Vile has shared a cover of John Prine’s “How Lucky,” which features the late Prine himself.

The track, which was recorded prior to Prine’s death earlier this year, marks Prine’s second posthumous recording, following “I Remember Everything.”

“It was backstage at the Station Inn where Ferg introduced me to John Prine for the first time,” Vile explains. “And the first thing John told me was that he heard and liked my version of ‘Speed of the Sound of Loneliness.’ I knew Ferg had showed him that recording, but it was wild to hear him acknowledge it to say the least.”
