Former Oasis singer Liam Gallagher’s second solo album, Why Me? Why Not., is due out on September 20th. Now, Gallagher has released a new song from the album titled “One of Us.” The song has references to the Oasis hit “Live Forever” and features strings and a choir.
“One of Us” is co-written with Andrew Wyatt and features Nick Zinner of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs on guitar. Gallagher’s youngest son Gene also plays bongos on the track.
“I wrote some songs on my own for the last album, but this time it’s all co-writes,” Gallagher expressed in a press release. “Reason being is I want it to be even better than As You Were. I know my strengths and I know my limitations. I’m an ok songwriter, but I’m a great singer and frontman. I want the second album to be a step-up because the hardest thing to do is to make something the same, only better. So that’s what we’ve done.”
