Listen: Neil Young releases ‘Homegrown’ outtake ‘Daughters’

From his 10 disc box set 'Archives Volume II: 1972 - 1976'

Last year, Neil Young released his expansive 10 disc box set, Archives Volume II: 1972 – 1976, which featured 12 previously unreleased tracks and 50 previously unreleased versions of songs.

While the physical set is already sold out, and it’s only available to stream on Young’s subscription-based Archives site, but today he’s shared a track from the Homegrown sessions, “Daughters.”

The stunning track features Levon Helm on the drums, Emmylou Harris on backing vocals, Ben Keith on Pedal steel, and Tim Drummond on bass. The release comes accompanied by an equally beautiful, yet simple black-and-white music video, which sees Young frozen in a window with an animated film projector moving in the forefront.

Watch the video for “Daughters” below.

Neil Young has plenty of archival material in the works, including his previously unreleased 1982 album Johnny’s Island, his forthcoming live album and his movie with Promise Of The Real.
