Listen: Rose Red Youth share new track ‘Let’s Just Be Friends,’ announce forthcoming project ‘Love You More’

'Love You More' will be released throughout the spring and summer

Canadian alternative band Rose Red Youth have announced their forthcoming project, Love You More, which is set for release in the spring and summer of 2021 as a series of seven singles. Today, they’ve shared the collection’s lead single, “Let’s Just Be Friends.”

“Let’s Just Be Friends” is “a heavy-hitting, alternative rock track about friendship, failure, and change,” Rose Red Youth explain. “It’s honest and vulnerable in its lyricism and production, with an anthemic chorus and smashing electric guitars akin to ‘The Bends’ by Radiohead of ‘Moaning Lisa Smile’ by Wolf Alice.”

The gritty new track is definitely a must-listen, with perfectly rollicking guitar licks, a driven drum beat, and catchy vocals, delivering lines like, “It’s just that I/ Am fighting not to hate you.”

Love You More was written and recorded remotely across Canmore, Alberta and a farm in rural Ontario, where the band all lived together.
