Said The Whale have shared a cinematic video for their new track, “Everything She Touches is Gold to Me.”
The new tune is written about bandmember Tyler Bancroft’s first date with his partner in November of 2009. The love song is all about excitement and anticipation, atop a wavering indie pop instrumental line. The accompanying Sterling Larose and Riley Orr-directed video, which was shot by Karina Jesson, is filmed in a Wes Anderson-style, packed with symmetry.
“Steve [Bays] is an incredibly detail-oriented producer,” Bancroft explains of the track. “We would work until four or five in the morning. Then sleep at his house and work the next day until late into the night. It was exhausting, but each song came to life in such an amazing way with so many layers.”
