Listen: Soccer Mommy releases demo version of ‘Blossom’ and B-Side ‘Be Seeing You’

Frontwoman Sophie Allison has resurfaced some older tracks

Last year, Soccer Mommy released her debut full-length album Clean, and now she’s shared a demo version of the record’s “Blossom” alongside the B-side “Be Seeing You.”

Similar to the album version, the demo for “Blossom” is a sort of wistful aching, as Soccer Mommy performs with warm, harmonized vocals and a slightly more crafted rendition than the stripped-down style on Clean. “Be Seeing You” is a shoegaze style track, led by a catchy and dreamy guitar line with gritty, endearingly flat vocals.

Listen to “Blossom” and “Be Seeing You” below.

“‘Blossom’ was one of the first songs I wrote for Clean. It was before I even realized Clean was going to exist,” frontwoman Sophie Allison explained in a press release. “‘Be Seeing You’ is an even older track. It was made as a single with the original recording of ‘Last Girl’ but it was never put on streaming. It’s an old favourite of mine so I’m happy to see it get released everywhere.”
