The Cranberries have just dropped the title track from their forthcoming album In The End, which was recorded prior to the death of singer Dolores O’Riordan.
“In The End” was the final song the band recorded, and the gorgeous track comes with a lyrical and instrumental emotional punch, as O’Riordan sings heartwrenching lyrics like, “Ain’t it strange/ When everything you wanted/ Was nothing like you wanted?/ In the end.” The track sees O’Riordan’s vocals at the forefront, with her gritty, floating tone searching for a way through the stripped back, acoustic guitar-based melody.
“What a way to finish the record. To have ‘In The End’ as the last song is just perfect,” drummer Feral Lawler explains in a statement.

In the End drops on Friday, April 26th.
