The Head and the Heart have just announced that their newest album Living Marriage is set for release on May 17th, and as part of the announcement they’ve dropped their first single, “Missed Connection.”
The catchy, genre-bending track began as a memory of how frontman Jon Russell met his girlfriend, and then it turned into a metaphor about how the six-piece outfit met at an open mic in Seattle a decade ago, according to a press release. The band says that the album is set to move toward a new sound as a result of their love for pop and hip hop styles of production. “A lot of beats on [“Missed Connection”] are quicker,” drummer Tyler Williams explains in a statement. “There are high-hats that were never in our music before.”
