The Rolling Stone Music Now podcast has released an episode about Martin Scorsese’s brilliant new documentary about Bob Dylan’s Rolling Thunder Revue. The film is entwined with mischievous fiction, such as having a young Sharon Stone on tour, and interview segments with a pretentious documentarian who did not exist.
Podcast hosts Brian Hiatt and Andy Greene interview Byrds founder Roger McGuinn and Rolling Thunder producer Louie Kemp, who are two people who actually were on the tour, to discover the true tales of the experience and discuss the film. McGuinn and Kemp were amused with the movie, however Kemp felt that the production “took away from the realistic integrity of the tour.”
