Johnny Cash left us 10 years ago, but like so many other influential musicians with long and prosperous musical careers, there are always hidden gems that never see the light of day. By the looks of things, Mr. Cash was in the midst of writing and recording a new album called Out Amoung the Stars during the mid 80s. Billy Sherrill, the producer, was dropped and none of the material ended up going anywhere. Johnny Cash’s son, John Carter Cash, found the master tapes and the album will get a proper release come March.
