Listen: Tom DeLonge brings back Angels & Airwaves to release ‘Rebel Girl,’ announces new album, film project and tour

Goodbye aliens, hello Angels & Airwaves.

After spending years hunting down UFOs, Tom DeLonge has made his return to music. Although he won’t be reuniting with Blink-182, he’s brought back his other band Angels & Airwaves for the release of “Rebel Girl.”

The band’s first new track in three years serves as the lead track for a forthcoming album and feature film project. The track, of course, is inspired by DeLonge’s alien hunting efforts as the co-founder of the UFO research group, To the Stars.

“‘Rebel Girl’ is a space-age love song that combines my enduring obsession for New Wave, pop punk, and anthemic rock and roll music,” DeLonge explains in a statement. “As some of you might’ve heard, I recently took a brief minute to start up an aerospace company, so you never know – I may play this song from a satellite deep in space, beamed toward everyone’s house viciously on repeat.”
