Toro y Moi just released a funky new disco track called “Ordinary Pleasure” off of his upcoming album, Outer Peace, which is set for release on January 18th.
The shimmery, playful track is led by bongo rhythms and jazzy synths, giving the track a well rounded indie electro pop feel. The rubbery bassline opposes the sort of lowkey desperation in the lyrics, which seems to fit with the theme of the album. “This record is a response to how disposable culture has become and how it affects creativity,” Toro y Moi explains in a statement.
