New York indie rock band Wild Pink shared their captivating LP A Billion Little Lights in February and are already back with a new EP titled 3 Songs that is to come out next month.
The first single off the EP, “Ohio,” is an airy daydream that features honeyed harmonies with singer-songwriter Samia, who is also becoming increasingly popular in the indie scene herself. The pair seem to effortlessly float through the three-and-a-half-minute poetic ballad.
Frontman John Ross revealed the inspiration behind the shimmery track:
“This song is about feeling isolated but then the relief that comes from seeing family/friends. It’s about getting some comfort from some of the mundane things I took for granted growing up, like daily summer storms and the hum from an oscillating fan at night. I wrote a lot of it during soundchecks on a tour with Adam Torres in 2018.”
