Listen: Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ Karen O and Danger Mouse release ‘Lux Prima,’ team up for new LP

The album will get a limited edition 12-inch white vinyl release on December 14

Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ frontwoman Karen O has teamed up with producer Danger Mouse for an upcoming collaborative album, and they’ve shared “Lux Prima,” which is the title track off of the new LP.

The epic nine-minute single surrounds Karen O’s vocals in an extravagant space-like synth based intro and outro. “With ‘Lux Prima,’ we were really looking for a place rather than a sound,” Danger Mouse explained according to the Rolling Stone. “It was our first shared destination so we thought we’d take our time getting there. The song itself is a bit of a journey, but all the parts felt like they needed each other.”

“After making music for the past twenty years and embarking on making this record with Danger Mouse I knew a couple things,” Karen O explained in a statement. “One was that the spirit of collaboration between us was going to be a pure one, and two was that the more I live the less is clear to me.”

Lux Prima will get a limited edition 12-inch white vinyl release on December 14th.
