A Youtuber has unveiled a project using Artificial Intelligence to create a fake Nirvana song titled “Smother.”
Youtuber Funk Turkey is the mastermind behind this project, and they have also penned fake songs for AC/DC, Metallica, and, yes, Nickelback.
Funk Turkey was able to “scrape the Genius Lyrics database” and using the Markov Chain to enter them into a system which created Nirvana like lyrics. Funk Turkey then performed, mixed, and mastered the track “in my kitchen, on a sparkly red cheap Stratocaster, a crappy mic, and an old copy of ProTools.”
