Listen: Sleater-Kinney make their comeback with St. Vincent-produced track ‘Hurry on Home’

The trio collabs with Annie Clark for 'Hurry on Home'

Sleater-Kinney has released “Hurry on Home,” a new track produced by St. Vincent. It appears that Sleater-Kinney’s sound has changed drastically, as the trio explored a new sound palette on this tune.

“I think for [guitarist/vocalist] Carrie [Brownstein] and [guitarist/vocalist] Corin [Trucker] it was liberating to explore a different sound palette,” drummer Janet Weiss explained in a press release. “Instead of just going into the studio to document what we’d done, we were going in to explore and to find the essence of something. To dig in deeper.”

“Hurry on Home” is about pleading to a significant other about getting back together. In the video, the lyrics are shown through text messages that show a woman asking for her partner back. The use of the text messages makes it seem realistic and organic, as if these were real messages that someone would text to their ex in order to get back together.
