Earlier today, Lizzo tweeted out a screenshot of the Postmates app, accusing a driver of stealing her food, but after backlash she has released an apology.
After getting riled up about her lost delivery order, Lizzo tweeted, “Hey @Postmates this girl Tiffany W. stole my food she lucky I don’t fight no more.” Then, several fans began clapping back at Lizzo, accusing her of acting out against vulnerable food service workers.
Now Lizzo has deleted the tweet and released a formal apology, stating “I understand I have a large following and that there were so many variables that could’ve put her in danger.”
Check out the statement in full below.
I apologize for putting that girl on blast. I understand I have a large following and that there were so many variables that could’ve put her in danger. Imma really be more responsible with my use of social media and check my petty and my pride at the door. ?
