Lonely Island is working on a Fyre Festival spoof

Seth Rogan is also ready to take part

The Lonely Island’s Jorma Taccone has revealed that the group is planning to make a film parody of the Fyre Festival.

Taccone is working on the big-screen project with Seth Rogen and fellow Lonely Island members, Akiva Schaffer and Andy Samberg. The film is set to be formatted similarly to the spoof music mockumentary Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping.

“I don’t want to divulge all the details but we’re figuring it out right now,” Taccone said, according to the Daily Beast. “You’ve seen the docs, right? It’s crazy. This is something that Akiva and Seth cooked up, and we’re figuring it all out right now.”

Taccone’s major inspiration from Andy King, the festival’s creative director, who became the focus of a meme after he almost performed a sexual favour to Bahamian officials to get bottled water shipments through customs, as requested by Billy MacFarland himself. “I was like, I would hire that dude for anything…Hire that dude! That guy is a champion,” Taccone stated.
