International arts festival Luminato Festival Toronto has announced the lineup for its first-ever virtual event, which will take place from 7:00 PM on Thursday, June 11th to midnight on Saturday, June 13th.
This Indie88 feature is presented with Luminato Festival Toronto.
The festival, which is dedicated to performance, media, and visual arts, and programming that cuts across traditional art form boundaries, will feature more than 20 hours of free programming, three world premieres, and four works created specifically for the virtual edition.
Luminato Festival Toronto will feature a wide range of events from a cooking and singing session with Canadian soprano Measha Brueggergosman, a conversation with JUNO Award-nominees Sultans of String about their new album Refuge, a request radio hour with Ron Nelson, a conversation about climate change and activism with UK-based Amy Sharrocks, and so much more.
“Prevented by the global pandemic from presenting our originally planned live festival, it’s been a thrilling high-speed challenge to replace it with our first-ever virtual Luminato,” CBE and CEO of Luminato Anthony Sargent explains. “It’s completely different of course, but we believe our adventurous Luminato flame burns just as brightly in tis new incarnation!”
