M.I.A’s new music video has been barred from release because of charges of “cultural appropriation,” the singer/rapper says. She took to Twitter to express her outrage, though she didn’t say who was stopping her from releasing the video.

If the music industry allows an African artist to come through this year on intnl level, I would gladly give him this video for free.

What do you make of the “cultural appropriation” argument? Should M.I.A.’s video be released?
