At the end of 2018, it was announced that a follow-up to Space Jam was in the works, and now the film has gotten a new director.

Space Jam 2 is not only set to star LeBron James, Don Chearle, and the Looney Tunes characters, but it will be directed by Girls Trip‘s Malcolm D. Lee. Originally, Terence Nance was attached to the project, but he left after creative differences with the producers, and now Lee will be taking his place.
The exciting reboot is set for release on July 16th, 2021.
