Watch out, residents of Markham. Unlike most other places in Ontario, the municipality just announced that cannabis consumption in public will no longer be allowed.
The city council held a special meeting yesterday so that they could figure out the bylaws around cannabis just hours before it had been legalized.

The city had already announced that they were considering banning retail stores. They have officially decided that smoking weed must be in private, reflecting the original laws that were proposed by the former Liberal provincial government, which the PC government had scrapped.
Sorry Markham-based weed connoisseurs, no smoking outside for you unless you head to another municipality.
