Marvel is reportedly working on its first Asian-led superhero film, which will be called Shang-Chi. According to Deadline, work on the project is even being fast-tracked.
The superhero first appeared in the Marvel comic series in December 1973, and he was featured as the son of Fu Manchu, raised in a compound hidden from the rest of the world where he was trained in martial arts. Shang-Chi is frequently called the Master of Kung Fu, and he was eventually released in the world to kill for his father.

Eventually, Shang-Chi realizes that Fu Manchu is not as good as he thought he was, so the superhero rebels and joins the fight against his father.
There haven’t been any cast members confirmed as part of the film, but Chinese-American writer Dave Callaham is writing the screenplay, and Marvel is allegedly looking for an Asian or Asian-American director.
